Have you, or a relative suffered hearing loss?
Advice on what to do if you/your relative has a hearing loss
Talk loudly and clearly
Make sure your child can see your face when you are talking
Call your child’s name to get their attention before you start talking
The closer you are, the easier it will be for your child to hear you.
You should speak to their teacher about moving your child up the front of the class during lessons.
Encourage your child to ask for things to be repeated if they haven’t heard something
Explain to family, friends and teachers what your child requires from them in order to hear better
